OUR SERVICES
Preventative Care
At Hawkstone Dental Clinic, we believe that prevention is the foundation of good oral health. Our preventive care services are designed to help patients of all ages stay ahead of issues before they become bigger - and more expensive - problems. A little attention now goes a long way toward avoiding fillings, root canals, and other restorative work down the road.
Every preventive visit at Hawkstone includes a thorough exam, a professional cleaning, and a conversation about what we're seeing and what you can do at home to support your oral health. We take the time to explain things clearly and give you practical advice that actually fits into your daily routine - not just a generic reminder to floss more.
CHECKUPS & CLEANINGS
Regular dental checkups and professional cleanings are the cornerstone of good oral health. We recommend coming in every six months, though some patients benefit from more frequent visits depending on their oral health history. During your visit, we'll perform a thorough exam to check for any signs of decay, gum disease, or other concerns - and catch anything early before it has a chance to develop into something more involved.
Professional cleanings go beyond what your toothbrush can do at home. Our hygiene team removes plaque and tartar buildup from areas that are difficult to reach on your own, polishes your teeth, and sends you home with a clean slate and personalized advice for maintaining it.
X-RAYS
Dental X-rays allow us to see what's happening beneath the surface - things that aren't visible to the naked eye during a standard exam. This includes early-stage cavities between teeth, bone loss, infections, impacted teeth, and developmental concerns in younger patients. X-rays are a critical diagnostic tool that help us catch problems early and make informed treatment decisions. We take them on a schedule that makes sense for your individual needs, not on a one-size-fits-all basis.

CHILDREN'S DENTISTRY
We love seeing young patients at Hawkstone Dental. Building a positive relationship with the dentist early in life sets kids up for a lifetime of healthy habits - and helps them feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair as they get older.
Our team is patient, gentle, and experienced with children of all ages. We take an unhurried approach with younger patients, explaining each step before we do it and making sure they feel safe throughout the appointment. There's no rushing, no scary surprises - just a calm, friendly environment where kids can feel at ease.
We recommend bringing your child in for their first visit around age one, or when their first tooth appears. Early visits allow us to monitor development, catch any concerns early, and make sure parents have the guidance they need to support good oral hygiene at home from day one.
MOUTH GUARDS
A custom-fitted mouth guard is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your smile - whether you're an athlete or someone who grinds their teeth at night.
For athletes, a well-fitted guard protects against tooth fractures, knocked-out teeth, and soft tissue injuries during contact sports. For patients who grind or clench while sleeping - a condition called bruxism - a night guard absorbs the force before it can cause worn enamel, cracked teeth, or jaw pain.
Over-the-counter guards from the pharmacy might seem convenient, but they rarely fit well enough to offer real protection. We take impressions in-clinic to create a guard that fits your bite precisely, stays in place when it matters, and holds up over time. It's a small investment that can save you from significant dental work later.
